Dental Implants Palm Coast
A New Smile That Will Stand the Test of Time
For a smile to remain strong, functional, and long-lasting, it needs a stable foundation. While the roots of teeth are responsible for keeping the jawbone stimulated, problems can develop when tooth loss occurs. Without timely treatment, the bone can begin to shrink, destabilizing healthy teeth and causing them to fall out. With dental implants in Palm Coast, though, we can rebuild the base of a patient’s smile so that custom restorations can remain firmly in place. If you are considering permanent implants, call us to schedule a consultation.

What are Dental Implants?

Traditional tooth roots deliver stimulation to the jawbone each time a person bites down or chews. When teeth go missing, though, the bone remains untouched, causing it to shrink over time. With dental implants, the titanium, screw-like posts fit into the jawbone and deliver the same level of stimulation as their natural counterparts.
Dental implants are the only root-to-crown tooth replacement available, making them superior to more traditional solutions that only rest on top of the gums and mimic the look of a natural smile.
The 4-Step Dental Implant Process

- Initial Dental Implant Consultation – A patient will first meet with a member of our team to discuss their eligibility for treatment. We will examine their oral and overall health as well as their jawbone to determine if surgery is appropriate right away or if additional care is required (i.e., bone graft, gum disease treatment, etc.).
- Dental Implant Surgery – There are no referrals needed for dental implant placement, as our team can perform the procedure in-house. This keeps patients more comfortable and allows for a more convenient approach.
- Dental Implant Osseointegration/Abutment – After a patient’s implants are strategically placed within the jawbone, osseointegration must occur. The timeframe for allowing the implants to fuse with the jawbone is anywhere from 4-6 months. Once the individual is fully healed, they’ll return to receive their metal abutments that help hold the restoration in place.
- Delivery of Dental Implant Restoration(s) – After the recovery and waiting for a new set of teeth to be created, the final restoration will be attached to the implant posts for a complete smile.
Benefits of Dental Implants

- Jawbone Stimulation – Once the implant posts are in the jawbone, they will fuse to create the closest thing to natural teeth. Doing so will continue to stimulate the jawbone so it remains strong, full, and stable.
- Enhanced Appearance – The placement of the dental implants allows for a fuller, more supple facial appearance, giving patients a more confident and youthful look.
- High Success Rate – Dental implants have a success rate of around 95% after 10 years!
- No Food Restrictions – Because dental implants are positioned within the jawbone for more permanent placement, patients can eat all their favorite foods with virtually no restrictions.
